Corigliano tries againxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Openly-Gay composer John Corigliano - widely considered one of the leading composers of serious music of his generation - will be in residence at Oklahoma City University's School of Music Feb 22-24, if the weather cooperates. This will be Corigliano's second attempt to visit OKC, his first - scheduled for last January - was canceled due to a blizzard.

Corigliano won the Oscar last year for his score for the film The Red Violin. Corigliano's Symphony No. 1 dealt with the theme of AIDS. His Symphony No 2 premiered with the Boston Symphony last month. Corigliano may be best known for his opera, The Ghosts of Versaille.

While in residence at OCU, Corigliano will conduct workshops and lead performances of his works. Let's hope our Oklahoma weather is a little more cooperative this time.
