| Journalism internships at GayOKC.com xxxxxxxxxxxxxx xxx | ||
Working at GayOKC.com will give you the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the Oklahoma City area's GLBT Community, the forces that shape it and the issues involved, as you become familiar with the various groups and personalities both within the Community and without. You will gain invaluable experience as you learn how to report on issues that are still widely considered to be sensitive and controversial. Just think how that would look on your resume!
Journalism interns:
- Must live in Oklahoma City area
- Must have access to computer with Internet access and e-mail
- Must have access to car
- Photojournalism interns must provide their own camera (digital preferred)
- Will arrange interviews
- Conduct interviews
- Will attend local events and report on them
- Will write articles
- Do fact-checking
- Create and maintain background files
- Attend staff meetings, story meetings, training sessions and evaluations
- Work with editor to create final article
- All work must be submitted by e-mail!
- Deadlines will vary. In-depth articles will require days or weeks to complete, while other stories involving breaking news may need to be available for immediate upload as the story is actually happening.
- All work will be subject to editing by me.
- All internships must be either for college credit or work experience only.
- Finished articles published on GayOKC.com will be accompanied by your byline.
- GayOKC.com does not currently offer paid internships (sorry!).
- Interns will be expected to abide by your school's guidelines and policies regarding internships.
