Apparently there's been a rumor
floating around that the Great Plains Rodeo isn't
happening this year. Well, the Oklahoma Gay
Rodeo Association - OGRA - is here to to
tell you that's not true. The 18th edition of the Great
Plains Rodeo is proceeding on schedule and
will take place at its traditional time on Memorial
Day Weekend at the State Fairgrounds here in Oklahoma
City.
The OGRA is planning a New Beginnings Bash
for February 8 in the Finishline, with performances
by OGRA royalty and members of other IGRA-sanctioned
rodeo associations. Plus, you'll be able to meet the
new OGRA officers for 2003: president Phil Roder,
vice president Lester Little, treasurer Larry Foley,
recording secretary Leonard Williams and Great Plains
Rodeo director & IGRA trustee - and rodeo
director for IGRA Finals 2003 - James Blunk.
OGRA is actively seeking new members. They are also
inviting former members who were active in years past
to be involved in the organization again, saying they
believe there's a lot the newer members can learn
from the "old school". And, as always, they
need a ton of volunteers to help run the Great Plains
Rodeo, which promises to be yet again the biggest
party of the year in OKC's GLBT Community! Their
monthly meetings are open to the public and the next
one will be held on Sunday, February 2 at 1:30PM in
the Ledo at the Habana Inn.

Plains Rodeo, visit their website at www.okgayrodeo.com!
