REV PERRY & PARTNER TO
APPLY FOR MARRIAGE LICENSE The following was forwarded from the
QueerPolitics email list by Jim Nimmo - On Friday morning, Feb. 14 -- Valentine's Day --
Rev. Troy Perry and his partner Phillip Ray DeBlieck
will go to a courthouse in Los Angeles and apply for
a marriage license.
They are inviting the media to cover this event.
Rev. Perry will use this opportunity to call
attention to the unfairness of the marriage laws in
the U.S.
He is inviting tens of thousands of MCC couples --
along with other couples in the GLBT communities --
to do the same:
1. Go to the courthouse or municipal office on
Friday, Feb. 14 and apply for a marriage license.
2. Tell the local media and press about your plans
and ask them to cover your event as part of their
Valentine's Day news coverage.
3. Invite your fellow MCCers and friends to join you
for this public event in your town or city.
While this action is targeted for U.S.
residents, all people are encouraged to adapt and
apply this action as appropriate in your country or
culture.
Together we'll make our voices heard!
