OKLAHOMANS PARTICIPATED IN
AIDS TRIAL Vaxgen officials announced on Monday that
their experimental vaccine, AIDSVAX, "does not
appear to provide significant protection against HIV
infection". AIDSVAX is the first HIV vaccine to
make it to human trials. The data is the result of a
3-year trial involving 5417 volunteers, many of whom
live right here in Oklahoma. GayOKC.com is seeking
comment from local researchers, and, if possible,
trial participants about this development.
