Registrations are now being taken for FAMILY REUNION 2000, the second edition of the statewide GLBT conference organized by the Oklahoma Lambda Intercollegiate Coalition. Details on the event are now available at OLIC's new website at
olic.atschool.to. The event is scheduled for Sat, Mar 25 on the University of Oklahoma campus in Norman. Keynote speaker will be Gina Reiss, managing director of GenderPAC, the national organization for gender civil rights, and an extensive slate of workshops will be offered during the day. Related events will include a potluck dinner on Fri, Mar 24 (with entertainment by Peggy Johnson), and a 'Pride Prom' on Saturday evening. Registration is $15. Though the program is geared toward youth, organizers are encouraging everyone to attend. For registration info call 325-4452 or e-mail OKolic@hotmail.com.
Also planned on Thur, Mar 23 is a visit from Kevin Jennings, the Executive Director of
GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network). This event will be free and open to the public. Teachers and students alike are invited to stay after the talk to explore the possibility of starting a GLSEN chapter in Oklahoma.

COMMUNITY RESPONDS TO PARADE COMMITTEE APPEAL FOR INVOLVEMENT
That invitations to participate in the decision-making progress involved in organizing the Pride Parade are being taken seriously this year was clearly demonstrated at Monday night's committee meeting at the home of Paul Thompson. Last year, committee co-chairs Thompson and Chris Estep were often the sole attendees at Parade meetings. On Monday night, at least 10 people eagerly engaged in discussions of various organizational issues, ranging from pricing of parade registrations to the possibility of expanding the pre-parade activities on the day of the parade to include an arts festival in Memorial Park. This year's Pride Parade takes place on Sun, Jun 25.
Organizers are holding a contest to create a design for this year's logo. The winner receives $100. Contest deadline is Mar 25.
CLICK HERE for info. The next Pride Parade committee meeting

is on Mon, Mar 27, at 7PM at Paul Thompson's, 1133 NW 32nd, and is open to the public.
