OKLAHOMA LAMBDA INTERCOLLEGIATE COALITION ANNOUNCES MAJOR CONFERENCE, FUNDRAISER
OLIC, the coalition of GLBT student groups from colleges and universities across Oklahoma, announced yesterday that they will be holding a state-wide conference again this year. The one-day conference will be Sat, Mar 25, will feature national-level speakers and is being held on the University of Oklahoma campus. Scheduled speakers include Gina Reiss, managing director of Gender Pac, and Kevin Jennings, executive director of GLSEN. Registration forms will soon be available from participating student groups. GayOKC.com will post additional details as they become available.
On Sat, Jan 29 a fundraising concert for OLIC will be held at Diversity Coffeeshop, 1739 NW 16th. The concert will feature several bands and individual performers, ranging from punk to drag, including Same Day Service, Eric Sarmiento, The Lees, Fresca Sparks, and Desree Tarelle. There will be a $5 cover and donations will be accepted. Performances will begin at 8PM and are scheduled to last until 2AM(!). The concert is being hosted by OU students Timothy Brown and Fresca Sparks.
