Ohio Governor deletes sexual orientation from bias law

'A SANE VOICE IN OKLAHOMA'
Editorial by Edward Kromer and Paul Bashline - A sane voice from Oklahoma!  I really want to thank the (Oklahoma) Gazette for the very balanced article on the reparative therapy.  We felt that you gave a straightforward and honest story.  We knew the story was in the works and were afraid of how it could have been presented.  We know that there are some individuals that have the need for the services.  We understand that a few individuals, men or women might have been abused or used by the elders in their church (the highest percentage of pedophiles is Baptist men in a position of power over children) and need to be healed of the hurt inflicted. We understand that some individuals do make a choice and wish to change into what their church sees as proper.  That is ok and we wish them all the luck.  No one should be denied the choice to make their life the best they can.
Since the court ruling that happened in Vermont, we have written to every single senator, judge, representative, and the governor of that state.  We thanked them for the decision and showed our support in their efforts to make this great nation a leader again in human dignity.  The over whelming responses we received (we didn't expect letters back) were thanking us for "a sane voice from Oklahoma" a few simply said, "I will represent my constituents".  We respect that they will do exactly that.  So far we received 108 responses from the people we wrote to.  It is incredible that they would even take the time to read our letter from Oklahoma since it is not from their constituency!  The letter that stuck out in our minds was from one Vermont Senator.  He said he is so glad to hear a sane voice from Oklahoma.  He went in to some detail about the people that hold office in Oklahoma and expressed his sympathy that we had yet to be able to stop the wave of hatred that the whole world sees in Oklahoma.  For example, we have a Governor who does not believe in human dignity and even a mayor who believes in human dignity for some, but not "as long as those homosexuals speak".
We would like to invite those that say we, as homosexuals cannot have a happy lifestyle, to spend a day with us.  There is no "myth" as stated in the letter written by John Terneus.  We have many friends that are straight. We have many friends that are gay.  Some relationships make it and some don't.  We know couples who have been together for up to 57 years that are heterosexual and homosexual.  We know couples that have children and couples that don't. We are as normal as everyone else. There are always ups and downs.  We all have "in-laws". Some are great some are not.  We have the same arguments.  We have the same crises.  We have the same happiness.  The same joy.  We are no different.  We will celebrate 13yrs of life together in February. We invite all to celebrate with us.
