GARTH BROOKS TO PERFORM AT GAY RIGHTS CONCERT
According to the Human Rights Campaign's David Smith, Yukon, Oklahoma's own Garth Brooks - the biggest-selling performer in country music history - has definitely agreed to perform in a major concert in Washington, DC, to promote equal rights for Gay and Lesbians. "Equality Rocks" is being held in conjunction with the Millennium March On Washington, which is scheduled for Sunday, April 30. The concert will take place in RFK Stadium on Saturday, April 29 and is currently scheduled to feature Brooks as well as Melissa Etheridge, Ellen DeGeneres, Anne Heche, k.d. lang, Nathan Lane, the Pet Shop Boys, and others. Tickets will be sold through Ticketmaster. The concert is a project of the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.

NORMAN RESIDENT FILES COMPLAINT WITH UNITED NATIONS ALLEGING U.S. DISCRIMINATION
Norman resident Perry Mason (yes, that's his real name) has filed a complaint with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights alleging that the United States is in violation of international treaties because of US laws that discriminate on the basis of sexual orientaion. Mason filed his complaint in December, 1998 and says it usually take 2-3 years for such complaints to be evaluated. A ruling could be issued as early as this year. To read Mason's full
