| OKC Pride Parade committee accepting entries for 2001 logo contest | ||
(Posted 1-16-01)
Monday, January 15 was the official opening day of Pride Network, Inc's logo contest for Oklahoma City's annual Pride Parade. Pride Network, Inc is the organizing committee for the parade. First prize will be $150 this year, up from $100 last year. According to information on the PNI website, located at www.okcpride.com,
. . . all entries must be received no later than midnight, March 1. Entries can be mailed to PO Box 60296, Oklahoma City, OK 73146 or left at the Center at 2135 NW 39th Street, which is close to the corner of NW 39th and Barnes. To qualify for consideration the entries must be received by the deadline and include the theme "Embrace Diversity" and the words "Oklahoma City (or "OKC") Gay and Lesbian Pride Parade 2001". Entries should be submitted on heavy paper, poster board or foam core board with the design on the front and the artist's name, address, and phone number clearly printed on the back. The committee strongly suggests that all entries be submitted in an envelope or some covering so all entries can be opened at the same time for fairness to all. Each entry will be judged by PNI committee members who will look for best and most inspiring use of theme.
. . . And of course the decision of the judges will be final. All entries become the property of PNI, which reserves the right to change or adapt the winning entry to suit advertising and merchandising requirements. After the Pride Parade committee has made it's decision an Open House will be held at the Center and also at Herland Sister Resources on consecutive weekends to allow the community to view all the logo contest entries.
The winning entry will feature prominently in this year's parade advertising and publicity, as well as gracing the official 2001 Pride Parade t-shirt. Persons wishing more information about the logo contest can call Paul Thompson at 524-2131. The latest info will be posted on the PNI website as it becomes available.
PNI's regular monthly meeting is scheduled for Monday, Jan 22 at 7:30PM at the Center. The public is invited and welcome.
