Here's one sure to toast your corn.
According to an article in the Daily Diassapointment on May 4, Mayor Humphreys and DA Wes Lane have proposed stationing christian "community builders" in each OKC middle school, and if successful into elementary and secondary schools in a year couple of years (perhaps 3)
These builders will be supplied by the Christian Leadership Foundation of OKC at 40,000 to 50,000 per year to be mentors and counselors to students and to extend community and love to them. They are to build relationships with students and get to know their families.
The foundation calls it its first major initiative to help transform the OKC public schools as a way to improve the community.
I don't know about anyone else, but these sound an awful lot like chaplains or youth ministers.
Of course the question comes up about not only other religions outside of Christianity, but which brand of "christianity" is going to be promoted.
The fact that there is already a task force developing this plan would lead one to think that this has to be a little far along as it was announced at a luncheon for business, government and religious leaders, and no one is going to go ahead with the planning such a program entails if there were not a reasonable assurance it was not just an empty exercise or wishful thinking.
    this bears watching
