The following is an email from Joe Quigley
(Posted 10-27-02)

(10-27-02) At 2:10 pm on Friday, 10/25/02,  I followed my last student out the door at the end of the last class of the day, turned to my immediate left and removed my permissionless posting. It was hanging without permission, without any demand or even suggestion that it come down, without a meeting being called, a memo issued, or a scolding because I has violated Paragraph J.
And so it hung Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with the principal walking by it twice on Tuesday that I saw, twice on Wednesday as he passed it both entering and exiting my room for my evaluation observation, twice on Thursday when he came to the room for the post observation conference, and twice again on Friday when he returned for a second observation.
It could not have been missed as it was on bright construction paper and taking up wall space that was a good six feet by two feet.
In this instance it was allowed to hang unlike any Gay or Lesbian positive posting that is usually met with a demand for immediate removal, a meeting to get scolded and have Paragraph J gone over again, an issued  warning of an inpending reprimand, or the actual issuing of an oral or written one.
Thought I would let you know the poster was taken down as planned with no fanfare.
       Its getting too obvious.
Content discrimination and censorship because the information is positive about Gay and Lesbian people. It seems very important  for some to allow the misinformation to be perpetuated. Knowledge is frightening, but what is even more frightening is when people involved in education fail those they are educating, and are fearful of letting the students know the truth and so censor the facts.
This is not an oversight, it is a willful neglect of duty.
